What's it like to live in Greenwich?

Greenwich feels like a proper town rather than a London neighbourhood. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cutty Sark, Greenwich Park, and the Royal Observatory give it a cultural weight that few areas can match. The DLR connects to Canary Wharf quickly, and North Greenwich (Jubilee line) is a short bus ride away. The town centre has a lovely market and independent shops. Rents are reasonable for what you get — Victorian terraces with gardens aren't unusual. The downside is the lack of a direct tube station (DLR and rail only), which makes some commutes longer.
