What's it like to live in Camberwell?

Camberwell is anchored by the Camberwell College of Arts, giving it a creative student energy. The food scene is strong — Camberwell Church Street has excellent restaurants, and the neighbourhood borders both Peckham and Brixton. The main drawback is transport: no tube station, which feels like an oversight for such a central area. Denmark Hill Overground provides some relief. Camberwell Green and the surrounding Georgian and Victorian streets have genuine architectural charm. Rents are lower than they should be given the location, largely because of the transport issue.
